Louis Parise was convicted of crimes related to commercial bribery
and RICO arising out of his involvement with the National Maritime
Union (NMU).
Parise’s RICO conviction was predicated upon his violation of
the Pennsylvania commercial bribery statute. Specically, Parise was
found to have delivered cash bribes to two port agents in exchange for
their referral of union members with personal injury cases to Parise’s
employer, the Sacks Law Firm.
e conviction arose out of an extensive government investigation
of corruption within the NMU and several related organizations. e
