§8.5 OTHER ZONING-LIKE USE REGULATIONS

RCW 36.70.750 describes "zoning" as the classification-based ordinances that regulate (1) the use of property as between agriculture, industry, business, residence, and other purposes; and (2) the location and dimension of structures and open spaces, density, lot coverage, and required off-street parking area.

There are a variety of classification-based regulations that regulate the use of parcels yet perhaps do not fall squarely within the definition of zoning under RCW 36.70.750. See Sammamish Cmty. Council v. City of Bellevue,108 Wn.App. 46, 55, 29 P.3d 728 (2001), review denied, 145 Wn.2d 1037 (2002).
