§ 9.7 • INSOLVENCY

The Code has elaborate provisions dealing with insolvent multistate estates, providing for marshalling of assets and making equitable proportionate treatment of all creditors, taking into consideration any secured claims. The general purpose of the Code is that the distribution of the residue of ancillary administration is to be transmitted to the domicile, if possible, for distribution to those entitled to it, but subject to certain important exceptions.42
