17-8 Fifteen-Year Statute of Limitations

A 15-year statute of limitations applies to suits for personal injuries if the injuries arise as a result of conduct that violates the following provisions of the Texas Penal Code:37

• Section 22.011(a)(2) (Sexual Assault of a Child)
• Section 22.021(a)(1)(B) (Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child)
• Section 21.02 (Continuous Sexual Abuse of Young Child or Children)
• Section 20A.02(a)(7)(A), (B), (C), (D), or (H) or Section 20A.02(a)(8) (Various crimes against children being trafficked)
• Section 43.04(a)(2) (compelling prostitution by a child); or
