17-5 Five-Year Statute of Limitations
A five-year statute of limitations applies to suits for personal injuries if the injuries arise as a result of conduct that violates the following provisions of the Texas Penal Code:26
• Section 22.011(a)(1) (Sexual Assault)
• Section 22.021(a)(1)(A) (Aggravated Sexual Assault)
• Section 20A.02 (Trafficking of Persons)
• Section 43.05(a)(1) (Compelling Prostitution)
