President Biden: What does he mean for HR?

When President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in on Jan. 20, employers can expect a return to the generally pro-employee regulatory agenda of the Obama administration, updated to reflect the realities of a business environment that's been largely shaped by the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden, however, may not be able to run his entire campaign play-book once he takes office. Unless Democrats win both Senate run-off elections in Georgia next month, Biden would face a divided Congress, thus limiting his agenda. If the Democrats fail to gain the Senate, look for Biden to pursue his initiatives mainly via the regulatory route.
