A scientist who was fired from her job at Pittsburgh Plate Glass has won a $3 million verdict against her former employer. She alleged her supervisor made sexist remarks, assigned her to administrative rather than technical teams and then staged a sham investigation as a pretext for terminating her.

A federal jury in Pittsburgh found her claims credible and awarded her $993,495 in front pay, $478,585 in back pay--and $1.5 million in emotional distress damages.
