COVID altered all kinds of plans, including weddings. As restrictions ease, HR and payroll should start preparing for an outbreak of wedding bells this year--particularly dealing with name changes.

A Brides magazine survey found that 66% of couples who wanted to tie the knot in 2020 decided to wait until family and friends could join.

New brides who take their husbands' names and members of newly hyphenated couples will need help formalizing their name changes.

At the very least, they'll need new Social Security cards. The Social Security Administration's procedure for getting new cards can be found at www.socialsecurity.gov/ssnumber.
