If you've been taking advantage of the loosened rules to remotely review (via video, email, etc.) your new hires' identity and work authorization documents for I-9 purposes, you can continue to do so until at least September 19. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) introduced the emergency remote inspection rules when the pandemic hit and has continued to extend them every 30 days. Normal I-9 rules require you to inspect those documents in person.
