§49.4COMPARISON WITH FEDERAL RULE

CR 49 is similar to, but broader than, Fed. R. Civ. P. 49. Whereas CR 49(-) defines "general verdict," there is no equivalent federal rule. There is likewise no federal counterpart to CR 49(c)-(Z), which largely refer to Washington statutes on verdicts, contained in Chapter 4.44 RCW. However, CR 49(a) and (b) are analogous to Fed. R. Civ. P. 49(a) and (b).

FED. R. CIV. P. 49 was amended in 2001 as part of the general restyling of the federal rules.
