§49.5PURPOSE AND PROCEDURE

Under RCW 4.44.410, a jury verdict is "either general or special." CR 49(-) defines "general verdict," while CR 49(a) addresses special verdicts. Special verdicts permit the jury to make special written findings upon each issue of fact. Alternatively, CR 49(b) permits the jury to enter a general verdict and answer written interrogatories submitted to it by the court on one or more issues of fact.
