Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property (January 3rd, 2005)
The Paris Convention is the oldest international treaty still in force; for the appli-
cant the most relevant article in practical terms will be the 4th, regulating the
terms of priority for patents, trademarks, design protection and other forms of IP.
Note that under the PCT, the most relevant international treaty for patents, a
priority can be used not only from any Paris Convention member state, but also
from any World Trade Agreement member state.
