About the Author
Holly J. Wanzer is a founding attorney of
Wanzer Edwards, PC where she practices in
the area of family law, including collaborative
law and family mediation. She earned her Juris
Doctor summa cum laude from Indiana Uni-
versity Robert McKinney School of Law. She
graduated magna cum laude from Ball State
University, earning her Bachelor of Science
degree in English and advertising.
As an experienced family law litigator, Ms.
Wanzer assists individuals with a variety of
cases including legal separation, dissolution of marriage, post-dissolution mod-
ifications (including child support, custody, education expenses, emancipation),
paternity, guardianship and grandparents’ rights. In addition, her practice also
provides representation for clients who wish to pursue or have need to respond
to an appeal in domestic matters.
Ms. Wanzer is a registered family mediator providing mediation services
to families facing the changing circumstances which accompany dissolution of
marriage, custody and parenting time modifications, child support modifications
and paternity determinations. Her commitment to the private resolution of family
issues, the preservation of positive working relationships within families, and
her calm demeanor and sensitivity in the face of emotional challenges make
her the ideal choice as a mediator for family law matters.
Ms. Wanzer is the Founding President of the Board of the Central Indiana
Academy of Collaborative Professionals and continues to serve on the board
as Immediate Past President. She is a member of the International Academy
of Collaborative Professionals, which provides innovative alternatives to liti-
gating divorce and family law matters with an emphasis on co-parenting and
resolving cases without court intervention. Ms. Wanzer is a frequent speaker
on the topic of collaborative law. Among other programs, she has presented
the two-day Introduction to Interdisciplinary Family Collaborative Practice, a
national teleseminar on collaborative law for the National Business Institute,
“Collaborative Law in Family Law Disputes,” and a seminar on the collaborative
family law process at the 2012 ICLEF Masters Series program.
Ms. Wanzer was named a “Rising Star” in the Indianapolis Super Lawyers
magazine in 2011, 2012 and 2013. She is a member of the Board of Directors
of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation, where she currently serves as Secretary.
She is a member of the Women in Law Committee of the Indiana State Bar
Association where she chairs the Public Service Committee and was an author
and initiator of the Lady Justice Girl Scout program. Ms. Wanzer is an instructor
