§10.2 Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

FDA is a scientific regulator federal agency responsible for ensuring, among other articles, that foods and drugs are safe. Regarding foods, the FDA duties are related to labeling, safety, and bottled water. For drugs, FDA duties relate to product approvals, labeling, and establishing good manufacturing practices (GMP). A key aspect of its mission is the protection and advancement of public health.1 The FDA administers more than forty different statutes.2
