Who ya gonna call? CPAs! During February and March, CPAs came to the rescue for many beleaguered individuals seeking tax advice. The Society's volunteers took time from their busy tax preparation season to serve on special tax hotlines sponsored by media throughout Ohio.

* WCP0 News 9 in Cincinnati

* NBC-4 News in Columbus.

Each tax expert handled dozens of questions throughout the programs, ranging from inquiries on estate taxes to simple questions about the 1040 form.

Columbus CPA Bill Keller of Pritchett, Dlusky, Saxe and Keller Ltd said volunteering for the tax program gives him an opportunity to provide much needed help to consumers who usually do their own taxes but might be facing a special situation this year.

"The people who call don't typically consult CPAs, but they are very grateful for the help and sometimes they have some very unique situations that require special handling," he said.

Keller said the shows are fast, fun and he likes giving people who call the peace of mind of consulting a professional.
