Webinar gives tips on effective
storytelling
The nonprot resources website Charityhowto.com
will host a webinar titled “How to Tell Stories That
Motivate Donors to Give—The Real Story You Need
to Tell” on Aug. 4 and 12 at 1:00 PM ET.
According to organizers, it’s common knowledge
storytelling is crucial to motivating donors to give.
Simply relating facts and statistics doesn’t work, nor
does making cogent arguments or offering super-clear
explanations for why your organization deserves their
support. Storytelling, in contrast, gets donors to pay
attention to what you’re saying—and then take the
action you want them to take.
Led by Jeff Brooks, a fundraising consultant who
specializes in effective storytelling, this practical,
hands-on session will show attendees how to discover
their fundraising stories, and tell them with grace,
drama and effectiveness.
Key points to be covered in the webinar include:
why donors give—and how you can give them
what they need,
• how to tell stories for asking,
how to tell stories for thanking and reporting
back And
• writing tips for vivid and effective stories.
Registration fees for this event are $79.
