Making the Most of Organizational
Assessments workshop
PEAK Grantmaking will host a workshop titled
Making the Most of Organizational Assessments:
Lessons from Funders and Grantees on Dec. 2 at
2:00 p.m. EST.
According to organizers, as we navigate the chal-
lenges of the ongoing pandemic, the organizational
health of nonprots is more important than ever. To
that end, a recent “landscape scan” of organizational
assessment tools, conducted by the Hewlett Foun-
dation and Informing Change, found that the tool
mattered less than the process, intentions and players
involved in organizational assessment.
This workshop will examine key lessons from the
landscape scan, drawing on rsthand experience of
the Einhorn Family Charitable Trust and its grantee
partner City Year, looking specically at why Ein-
horn Family Charitable Trust chose the Performance
Practice tool (formerly PIOSA) as its assessment tool,
how they structure the process with grantees, what
worked well for City Year and what advice they have
for other grantmakers.
Attendees should come away with a deeper and
more nuanced understanding of how funders can
more effectively incorporate organizational assess-
ment tools and processes to support stronger grantee
organizations.
Speakers will include:
• Tina Cheplick, Informing Change,
Lucie Addison, Einhorn Family Charitable
Trust,
Jennifer Wei, the William and Flora Hewlett
Foundation and
• Duke Guthrie, City Year.
Registration fees for this event range up to $55.
