TEI's advocacy strategy for approaching the impending tax reform debate will focus on assessing tax legislative proposals as they emerge from the Congress and the White House. We will analyze, on an industry-by-industry basis, legislative proposals for substantive effects and tax administration implications. The former will help sharpen members' understanding of the substantive challenges they confront in their own industry as well as those their in-house peers confront in other industries, whereas the latter will help TEI identify and publicly comment on significant areas of tax administration concern--e.g., compliance costs and burdens, identifying issues, and proposing ways to ameliorate them.
