should not exceed 30 typewritten, double-spaced pages and should conform
to the Publication Manual (Fifth Edition) of the American Psychological
Association. Include the manuscript title, author’s name, affiliation, mailing
address, email, phone, and fax on a cover sheet accompanying the manu-
script. A biographical statement for each author of not more than 50 words,
along with an abstract of no more than 100 words, should appear on separate
sheets. Repeat the manuscript’s title on the abstract page. Submissions are
blind-reviewed.
Format. Double-space the manuscript, use 1-inch margins, and number
pages.
Heads. Articles, titles, subtitles, and text subheads should be selected
with consideration to conciseness. Subheads should be limited to three
levels:
1. Major level (centered, all caps)
2. Second level (flush left, caps and lowercase, underlined)
3. Third level (caps and lowercase, underlined, paragraph indented with text
following on the same line)
Text citations. All references in the text or any notes should be identified
by the last name of the author, year of publication, and include pagination
where appropriate.
1. Author’s name in text: Johnston (2001, p. 150)
2. Author’s name not in text: (Johnston, 2001)
3. Two authors: (Johnston & Denby, 2001, p. 150)
4. Two or more authors: (Johnston et al., 2001, p. 150)
List complete information for every reference at the end of the article
under References.
Tables and figures. Tables and figures should be typed on separate sheets
of paper and numbered in Arabic. Indicate placement of tables or figures in
the text by writing “Insert Table 1 about here.” Footnotesto tables or figures
should be superscripted in the table body and indicated beneath the table
by the use of lower case “a,” “b,” “c,” and so on. Table or figure source mate-
