Sacrificing comfort for a cause.

No one likes to ask others for money. There are thousands of things most people would rather do--including swim through shark-infested waters with a steak tied around their necks.

But when the cause is one of pride and passion, people are invariably ready, willing and able to sacrifice their personal comfort. That is the case with the $1.5 million Centennial Campaign to benefit The Ohio CPA Foundation. Nearly 100 CPAs have jumped in to talk one-on-one with their peers about why they believe in and support the Campaign.

One of the reasons so many CPAs are involved with the campaign is because the funds raised through the Campaign will be spent addressing issues that are important to CPAs. Funds will be used to recruit talented students to the CPA career path. These talented CPAs will continue to bring excellence to the profession and ensure that "CPA" stands for highly credible, highly valued expertise long into the future.

The CPA profession has opened the doors to career and economic success for so many Ohio Society members. It is fitting that during a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the Society's Centennial, we each have the opportunity to give back to the profession that has given us so much and leave a legacy for future generations. Years from now, the endowment established by the campaign will continue to fund programs that reach people throughout Ohio. In addition to recruiting students to the CPA career path, programs funded through The Centennial Campaign will bring awareness to the immense need for financial education by average consumers. The endowment enables the Foundation to launch widespread initiatives to address this critical need.
