Richland County tax bills include trash fee increase.

Richland County residents will pay $37.35 more in annual fees for curbside trash collection next year.

The county announced the first increase in curbside collection fees since 2008 on Tuesday as part of a multi-year effort to stabilize costs for the county's solid waste and recycling program. Landfill fees also increase for the first time since 1993, with those increases going into effect this past August, according to a news release.

The new rates will be included on 2020 property tax bills which will be mailed out starting this week.

For 2020, the annual rate for curbside collection increases by 15%, which is an additional $37.35. In 2021, the rate will increase by another 13%.
