Webinar looks at storytelling
potential of Form 990s
Candid will host a webinar titled “Tell Your Story
Using Form 990” on March 12 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
According to organizers, charities often work hard
to tell the best story they can about their organiza-
tions in a grant proposal. But they struggle to do
the same thing on their Form 990s, which are read
by funders and other researchers looking into the
organization. This course will explain how to make
the Form 990 a key marketing tool by crafting a clear
message using its inherent structure, and will cover
other tools grantmakers use to evaluate charitable
organizations.
Upon completion of this course, participants
should be able to:
• describe the Form 990’s overarching function
and its key parts,
• craft their organization’s story using the 990
structure,
• market their organization using the 990 and
• analyze how their organization’s story is told
through third-party websites and services grantmak-
ers and donors use to evaluate their nonprot.
Fees for this event are $49 until March 5, at which
time the fee will increase to $75.

Candid webinar explores theory
of change
Candid will host a webinar titled “Theory of
Change: Why You Need One & How to Develop It”
on March 19 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
According to organizers, a theory of change clearly
and concisely articulates how a nonprot organiza-
tion’s efforts are intended to change or benet those
it engages. It is a valuable tool for internally clarifying
an organization’s vision and informing the organiza-
tional priorities and planning. However, developing
a theory of change can be difcult, the group said,
especially when multiple voices must be heard. This
webinar will dive into this topic, covering the key ele-
ments of a theory of change and how to develop one.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants
should be able to:
• explain what a theory of change is and why it’s
helpful;
• differentiate between a theory of change and a
logic model;
• determine who should be involved in their or-
ganization’s effort to dene or rene its theory of
change; and
• begin articulating who their core audience
is, what their related needs are and how the core
audience will change or benet as a result of their
engagement.
Fees for this event are $49 until March 12, at which
time the fee will increase to $75.
