Foundation Center webinar
tackles program planning
The Foundation Center will host a webinar titled
“How to Plan Programs for Maximum Impact” on
March 15 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
According to organizers, program planning pres-
ents numerous challenges—from outside inuences
and multiple stakeholders to tight timelines and lim-
ited budgets—all of which make it difcult to know
where to start or how to stay on track. Thankfully,
they say, logic models provide a framework for un-
derstanding how your program’s resources, activities
and intended outcomes are connected. This webinar
will explore how to use logic models for planning,
describing and evaluating your programs.
The webinar will be led by Laurel Molloy, founder
of Innovations Quantied, a consulting rm that
helps nonprots increase their impact. Upon comple-
tion of this webinar, participants should be able to:
• Plan programs focused on outcomes.
Use a logic model for funding proposals to draw
clear connections from need to programming to results.
Communicate more clearly about their desired
impact, both internally and externally.
Fees for this event are $69, although early bird
discounts apply if registering by March 8.

Charityhowto.com webinar looks
at direct mail campaigns
The nonprot resources website Charityhowto.com
will host a webinar titled “Direct Mail Is Not All
About Writing—How to Successfully Organize and
Execute Direct Mail Appeals” on March 7 and March
14 at 3:00 p.m. ET and 1:00 p.m. ET, respectively.
According to organizers, direct mail is still critical
for any successful nonprot that relies on fundraising.
Unfortunately, they say, nonprots are leaving a lot
of money on the table, because they don’t send their
appeals at the right time to the right audience with
the right approach.
This webinar—which will be hosted by Erica
Waasdorp, a veteran direct mail fundraiser—will
show participants how to successfully plan for and
execute appeals their donors will love. More speci-
cally, participants will learn:
How to best segment their donors and prospects.
How to design and produce appeals that t their
budgets.
How to create the best ask amounts for their
donors.
How to work with in-house resources as well as
printers, mail houses, and others to get their appeals
out the door.
How to measure results and return on investment.
How to create an overall direct mail plan for
the year.
How to match their thank-you letters to t their
direct mail appeals.
How to use email and social media to follow up
direct mail appeals.
Fees for this event are $87.

sonAllen, participants will learn the role fundraising,
program and nance each play in creating the project
budget to achieve these objectives. They will also learn
