Report of the Executive Secretary and Treasurer
for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2018
Financial: The Association remains in a strong financial position with the
total assets $19.2 million as of June 30, 2018. Net Operating Income for the
fiscal year was $544,590. Realized and unrealized capital gains amounted to
$860,000 for the same period bringing total income to $1.4 million for the
period. The Association’s net worth increased by 8% for the fiscal year.

Membership: Membership totals over the past 10 years are represented in
the following exhibit:

Acve Members
Total membership numbers increased over 8% between 2017 and 2018 to
over 11,400. Our regular (active) membership numbers increased 4.9% while
student members increased 39.5% over last year. However, the library and
corporate memberships are down 16.6%.
Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting for 2020 will be held in San Diego,
January 3–5 (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday). For the following three years the
ASSA Meetings are scheduled as follows:
2021 January 3–5 Chicago (Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday)
2022 January 7–9 Boston (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday)
2023 January 6–8 New Orleans (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday)
