Report of the Executive Secretary and Treasurer
for the Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2014
Financial: The Association is in a strong financial position with the total
assets over $14.7 million as of September 30, 2014. Net Operating Income
reported in 2013–2014 decreased by 46% over the previous fiscal year, but
overall Net Income ($1,086,006) increased by 40% due in large part to the
increase in unrealized capital gains of over $750,000. The Association’s net
worth increased by 8.2% over the fiscal year.
Membership: Membership totals over the past eight years are represented in
the following exhibit:
There has been an overall decline in both individual membership and insti-
tutions although institution subscriptions to the JF were up slightly in 2014
(2,077) from 2013 (2,049). The Association is considering ways to increase in-
dividual membership.
Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting for 2016 will be held in San Francisco,
CA on January 3–5, 2016 (Sunday, Monday & Tuesday). For the following two
years the ASSA Meetings are scheduled as follows:
2017 January 6–8 Chicago (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
2018 January 5–7 Atlanta (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
