PREFACE
The Second Edition of the Handbook on the Antitrust Aspects of
Standa
rds Setting is intended to help lawyers, judges, and
academics
navigate
the increasingly complex intersection between standards and
antitrust law. This book not only updates the prior edition, but explores
in

property, and introduces new topics, such as the treatment of standards
issues
under
European competition
law.
This book is the product of numerous contributors. Sean Gates
served as editor-
in
-chief. Michael Lawrence, Rony Gerrits, An
kur
Kapoor, Robert Schwartz
,
and Seth Greenstein helped to review draft
chapters. The drafting team included Helen Eckert, Morgan Frontczak,
Andrea Hasegawa, Bruce Kobayahi, John Landry, Jeffrey Perry, Kristina
Sadlak, Antonio Seabra, Deepika Sharma,
Mitc
hell Stoltz, and Joshua
Wrig
ht. Special thanks
also
go to Douglas Beteta for his many hours of
work with the manuscript. Edwin Fountain and Donald Amlin of the
Section’s Books & Treatises Committee provided important guidance
and constructive comments on
the book.
