Exponent Philanthropy
Meet the Experts workshop
Exponent Philanthropy will host a virtual infor-
mation session dubbed Meet the Experts on Sept. 23
at 3:00 p.m. EST.
According to the organization, this event is aimed
at those who are looking to hire an advisor or consult-
ant, and would like an informal way to connect with
them with an eye to working together in the future.
The event will bring together several of Exponent
Philanthropy’s Directory of Advisors in a “virtual
roundtable,” allowing participants to meet them in
a casual environment. These advisors offer a diverse
range of services, such as grants management, board
governance, strategic planning, grantmaking focus,
family dynamics, retreat planning and facilitation
and more.
Featured advisors will include representatives
from Blackbaud, Foundant Technologies, Glenmede
Endowment & Foundation Management, Hammer
& Associates, Neuberger Berman, Phila Engaged
Giving, Relevant Wealth Advisors, Social Strategy
Associates, Zevin Asset Management and Hirsch

72nd Annual Conference
Philanthropy Southwest will host its 72nd Annual
Conference on Oct. 21 as a combination in-person/
virtual event.
The 2020 Annual Conference: Roadshow Edition
will be livestreamed from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CDT
for attendees across the country (one hour later for
the east coast.).
There will be small-group gatherings in eight cities
across the country, where attendees can come together
in person to network with their grantmaking peers
and watch the livestreamed portions of the program
together.
According to organizers, the conference will fea-
ture speakers such as:
• Priya Parker, author of The Art of Gathering;
Robert Kaplan, President and CEO of the Fed-
eral Reserve Bank of Dallas;
Alfreda Norman, Senior Vice President of the
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas;
Dr. Carmen Rojas, President and CEO of the
Marguerite Casey Foundation and
Mikaila Ulmer, Founder and CEO of the Me &
the Bees Lemonade.

Governance Institute
Leadership Conference
The Governance Institute will host its Leadership
Conference Nov. 12–14 in Scottsdale, Ariz. Accord-
ing to organizers, this event—which draws executive
leaders from for-prot and nonprot health care
organizations, along with their boards and other
stakeholders—offers current information, interactive
sessions, expert speakers and the opportunity to meet
others with a similar commitment to improving gov-
ernance and achieving optimal board performance.
Key features of the event will include:
educational sessions aimed at helping attendees
stay abreast of current topics in health care and board
governance with the opportunity to earn continuing
education credits;
engaging and relevant presentations that will
foster learning opportunities and team building for
boards, health care executives and medical staff
leadership and
networking opportunities that will bring together
organizations facing similar challenges.
The conference will feature keynote speaker Mi-
chael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell
Health, as well as sessions led by:
Todd Sagin, national medical director of Sagin
Healthcare Consulting LLC and
Lawrence R. McEvoy II, president and CEO of
Epidemic Leadership.
