Ohio Society seeks nominations for Executive Board: application deadline is Dec. 1.

The Ohio Society is seeking member nominations to fill the chair-elect and seven director positions on the Executive Board.

The Executive Board gives strategic direction on numerous initiatives across the spectrum of services the Society provides to its 24,000 members. Applications are due to the Society by Dec. 1.

The Executive Board's 17 members include three chairs, one vice chair-finance and 13 board members. The Society's president and CEO serves as an ex-officio member. The board members and vice chair-finance serve two-year terms. The chair's service spans three-years across chair-elect, chair and past chair.

"My board service gave me insight and understanding about issues facing the profession. The experience was meaningful because I could see where the Board made a difference by helping CPAs in Ohio and nationally," said former board chair Janice L. Culver, CPA, senior vice president with KeyCorp in Cleveland. "I formed lasting friends with colleagues from all across the state. It's a fun group and a rewarding experience."

Seven board meetings are held at the Society's office each year. The March meeting usually convenes via conference call. Each August, the Executive Board attends a planning retreat.
