A North Carolina-based paper tube manufacturer is investing $1.68 million to establish its first South Carolina operations in Williamsburg County, a project expected to create 19 jobs.

Summit Paper Tube Inc. is a manufacturer of spiral wound paper tubes used for paper, nonwoven fabric, shipping and cable reels, according to a news release.

"We look forward to being a part of the community and being in Williamsburg County for a long time," said Bob Bennett, Summit Paper Tube's president.
