Nonprot Learning Lab’s webinar teaches online event management
The Nonprot Learning Lab will host a webinar titled Manage the Tech of Your Online Meetings & Events Like a Pro
on March 18.
According to the organization, this event is for those nonprot leaders who might be feeling overwhelmed by all the
logistics that go into organizing an online event. They will learn best practices from the Nonprot Learning Lab, an
organization that has designed, organized and implemented over 150 online events since March 2020.
As the organizers explain, an online event takes careful curation and planning to be engaging and free of technological
errors. In this workshop, attendees will learn practical strategies and tips for running a successful virtual event—whether
it be large meetings, board retreats, fundraisers or workshops—and ensure that they are equipped to host a seamless
experience for their guests, staff and volunteers.

New book looks at board membership through parable
A new book authored by the founder of leadership consulting rm Core Insights aims to help nonprots accomplish
their mission by inspiring board members to be more engaged and reap more enjoyment from investing their time.
The Ambassador’s Journey: A Parable about Nonprot Board Leadership, written by Core Insights CEO Brian Brandt
and co-authored by leadership consultant Ashley Kutach, is a ctional story about a man new to the world of nonprot
board service who, through effective engagement with the organization’s executive director and board leadership, nds
inspiration to serve his community in ways he never thought possible. According to the publishers, the story offers a
fresh take on how to guide board members to be enthusiastic ambassadors for their organization.
It addresses key questions including:
How do I really make a difference through my board service?
What does my organization need from me?
How do I go beyond just going through the motions?
The end of each chapter has prompts designed for individual and group discussion.

Webinar gives tips for engaging boards
Nonprot resources website Charityhowto.com will host a webinar titled How To Create An Engaged Board of Direc-
tors: A Step by Step Guide on March 18 and 23 at 1:00 PM ET and 3:00 PM ET, respectively.
According to organizers, this workshop will provide attendees with all of the tools and step-by-step instructions needed
to create a highly effective and impactful board of directors.
