iDonate secures funding
to enable expansion
iDonate, a provider of digital donation systems,
has secured an additional $8.7 million in funding that
will allow the company to fully integrate iDonate Pay-
ments into its core platform, creating a software-as-
a-service/payments solution that supports new tender
types, such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet, as well as
international payment processing. Additionally, the
funding will accelerate more functionality designed to

digital donations, the company said.
According to the company, iDonate was designed
from the ground up to accelerate the impact of
nonprot work by increasing donations. When it
launched, it was the world’s rst noncash-donation
technology provider, and has since expanded its
platform to cater to every donation type through
compatibility for multiple giving channels, such as
website, peer-to-peer, text and event-based giving. The
platform complements nonprots’ existing customer
relationship management systems, the company said.
With the new funding, iDonate plans to unveil new
capabilities throughout the year and has increased

United Way launches effort
to ensure accurate 2020 census
United Way Worldwide has launched a new Text-
to-Pledge campaign to help ensure the 2020 Census is
fair and accurate. The campaign will be powered by
211, a nationwide service that connects those in need
to a variety of local support services. According to the
group, people can text PLEDGE to 211-211 and opt
in to receive information about, and text reminders
to participate in, the 2020 Census. The service will
also address questions and correct misunderstandings
about the 2020 Census.
According to UWW, the Text-to-Pledge platform
is designed to maximize participation in the 2020
Census, with special emphasis on engaging com-
munities that are historically hard to count. These
include urban and rural areas with large low-income
populations, people of color, immigrants, non-Eng-
lish speakers, migrant workers, formerly incarcerated
people, young children, the elderly, those who are
disabled, renters, the homeless, LGBTQ and those
living in mobile homes or multiunit residences.
Other nonprots who serve these communities can
help by sharing information about the campaign with
their constituents.
The UWW hopes to gather pledges to be counted
from more than 1 million individuals.
