Maverick Carter, basketball icon LeBron James' business manager, has been named to the board of Live Nation Entertainment Inc.

Carter, who was named one of the most powerful people in the sports media business by TheBigLead.com, is credited with guiding James' career off the court with business ventures spanning entertainment, content creation, and marketing and business development. He was also instrumental in securing James' $1 billion lifetime deal with Nike, the largest single athlete deal and the first lifetime commitment in Nike's company history.
