Lawmakers continue to hammer out workers' compensation reform.

The Ohio General Assembly has made workers' compensation reform a priority with two separate, yet nearly identical, bills making their way through the legislature (HB 72/SB 7).

Hearings continue in both the Ohio House and Senate as lawmakers and stakeholders try to hammer out a compromise on the competing versions being heard in both chambers.

Both bills contain more than 30 provisions, including reforms to:

* Reduce employer fraud and false provider billing and levy fines for certain violations

* Reduce non-working wage benefits and limit factors considered for permanent total disability

* Shorten wait for permanent partial disability

* Require "substantial aggravation" for allowed...
