Initial unemployment claims drop by more than 2,300 in week.

Initial unemployment claims filed in South Carolina for the week ending March 13 dropped by more than 2,300 from the previous week.

The 2,752 claims represented a decrease of 2,394 from the 5,146 claims filed the week before, according to data from the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce.

Greenville County saw a state-high 275 initial claims, followed by Richland County with 243 and Spartanburg County with 205. Horry County saw 184 claims, Charleston County 148 and Lexington County 138.
