dollars and logged nearly eight times as many volun-
teer hours than full-time employees tracked under

their disposal, the ones they can call upon are likely

and event management. The acquisition adds com-
plementary capabilities to Community Brands’
event technology portfolio, the company said.
Attendee Interactive provides content solutions
for managing event websites, speakers, session
abstracts and continuing education accreditation.
These self-service tools are made available to both
attendees and exhibitors, allowing event planners
to maximize time, staff productivity and budgets.

Independent Sector announces
2019 cohort of NGen Fellows
The Independent Sector has announced the 2019
cohort of the American Express NGen Fellows
program.
According to the IS, the NGen Fellows—12 char-
itable-sector leaders age 40 and under—are selected
each year to take part in a range of activities that help
them expand their access to the people, knowledge,
networks and resources necessary to scale their work
in the sector.
The program, now in its 10th year, includes a
curriculum focusing on six core components: self-
awareness, results-based decision-making, systems
change, racial equity, adaptive leadership and net-
work development.
The 2019 NGen Fellows include representatives
from organizations such as the Alliance for a Better
Community in Los Angeles; the Anchorage Coali-
tion to End Homelessness in Eagle River, Alaska;
the United Way of Southwest Georgia in Atlanta; the
Dividend Project in Chicago; Equity in the Center in
Washington, D.C.; the East Oakland Youth Devel-
opment Center in Oakland, Calif.; and MENTOR
North Carolina in Durham, N.C.
The program runs from May 2019 to the end of
the year. The NGen Fellows will convene in person
three times, rst in Washington, D.C.; then in Chicago
in August; and nally at the IS’s annual summit in
November, also in Chicago.
