It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of two Associate Editors of the Financial Review.
Mardi Dungey
Mardi Dungey, Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Tasmania, Australia passed away in January
2019. Mardi served as an Associate Editor for the Financial Review and provided outstanding editorial advice to the
journal. Mardi was a prolific researcher whose speciality was the intersection of applied macroeconomics and finance.
She published almost 100 papers and was internationally recognized for her work in the transmission of financial sys-
temic risk. Beyond being an exceptionalscholar, she was widely known as being a wonderful colleague who was a men-
tor to many junior faculty and students.
We are honored to havehad Mardi as a member of our editorial board.
J. Spencer Martin
Spencer Martin, Professor of Finance at the University of Melbourne passed awayin September 2019. As an Associate
Editor for the Financial Review, Spencer was our go to guy for tricky papers on asset pricing and investments. He was
widely published and among many of his excellent works, co-authored one of the seminal papers on Credit Spreads.
Spencer frequently published in the very top journals in Finance. He was well known for having an incisive wit and
being not only an excellentresearcher, but a brilliant writer - a skill combination that is rare.
