We are delighted to offer our readers this special issue on Legal Pluralism. While colonial 'traditionalisms' continue to influence our post-colonial discussions of the subject, the topic has become of much broader significance with contemporary developments such as the new Lex Mercatoria, a revived Sharia and the plural governance mechanisms for cyberspace. This issue is therefore offered to readers in the hope of inspiring new debates.
