FOREWORD

The Section of Antitrust Law is pleased to present this third edition of

the Energy Antitrust Handbook. The intersection of antitrust and

regulation has long been at the forefront of counseling for practitioners

advising businesses in the energy sector. This Handbook provides a

comprehensive review of the regulatory and antitrust issues that arise in

the electricity, gas, and petroleum industries.

The Section is indebted to the many experienced practitioners who

contributed to the Energy Antitrust Handbook. The Section’s

Transportation and Energy Industries Committee devoted a great deal of

time and attention to this project. We are especially grateful to Karen

Kazmerzak, who coordinated the drafting and editing of the Handbook;

and to John Carroll, who edited itfor publication.
