The IADC, as our members know, is a unique organization. From IADC's executive director to its president, board members, leaders, and staff members, we are a group dedicated to both excellence and each other.

I was recently reminded of this when I transitioned from a regional firm to a global law firm. The first people to facilitate the transition were IADC members, who reached out to their contacts to let them know the positive things they knew about me from our work together in the IADC. And once the move happened, Mary Beth Kurzak and the IADC staff were the first to get the word out through the IADC website and other channels, while the President of the IADC Foundation Board proudly announced the move at the next board meeting with members from throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. This was tangible evidence of the ways in which the IADC, its staff, and its members support each other, and cheer each other on.

The articles in this issue of the DC/, too, reveal unique aspects of the IADC as well.

Global. We are, of course, an international organization. But we are more than an international legal organization...
