Editor’s Note

The papers in this special issue of Business and Society

Review are peer reviewed selections from those presented at

a conference honoring the 40th anniversary of the Center

for Business Ethics. The conference was held at Bentley University

on July 25 and 26, 2016. The presenters at the conference were

comprised of the Center’s past Verizon Visiting Professors and Vis-

iting Scholars. We wish to thank them for the many excellent

papers they delivered, and very much regret that we are unable to

publish them all.

From the Center’s beginning 40 years ago, it has been under the

direction and leadership of W. Michael Hoffman. In recognition of

Mike’s numerous achievements and contributions to the Center, to

Bentley University, and to the entire field of business ethics, the

Center has been renamed the W. Michael Hoffman Center for

Business Ethics. Our heartfelt congratulations go to Mike for

this well-deserved tribute to and acknowledgment of his many

accomplishments.
