There are 94 district courts throughout the United States and its territories. Many district courts have divisions
throughout their jurisdiction.
District courts are required to adhere to the procedures set out in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, as
    
termed local rules.
In this chapter, we have incorporated a summary of each court’s local rules. Addresses and telephone numbers
are listed for each court’s active judges, senior judges, magistrates, court reporters, and court clerks. The listing for


addresses of state and local governmental agencies for the reader’s convenience.
Note 
with the ever-changing court system, we encourage you to contact the clerk directly if a question should arise.
