Previously she was with Alcatel, where she was in charge of international business and industrial holdings and was a member of the executive committee. She formerly was a partner of Laza rd Freres & Cie. Currently she is a partner and managing director of the investment firm Efficiency Capital, which focuses on energy, technologies, and natural resources, and is a director of Total SA and Vodafone PLC. Palmisano, prior to his retirement in 2012, spent a nearly 40-year career with IBM Corp., where from 2003-2011 he was chairman, president, and CEO. Also is a director of Exxon Mobil Corp.
