Bio Notes: Lauvergeon is a French businesswoman and noted leader in nuclear power. In 2001 she merged Cogema and several other companies to create Areva, where she served as CEO until 2011. Previously she was with Alcatel, where she was in charge of international business and industrial holdings and was a member of the executive committee. She formerly was a partner of Laza rd Freres & Cie. Currently she is a partner and managing director of the investment firm Efficiency Capital, which focuses on energy, technologies, and natural resources, and is a director of Total SA and Vodafone PLC. Palmisano, prior to his retirement in 2012, spent a nearly 40-year career with IBM Corp., where from 2003-2011 he was chairman, president, and CEO. Also is a director of Exxon Mobil Corp.
