Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., the 17th secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), was elected to the board of D.R. Horton Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas, the largest homebuilder by volume in the United States.

"The company will benefit greatly from Ben's intellect, life experiences and leadership skills, including his recent experience as HUD secretary," said Donald R. Horton, chairman of the board.
