HERMAN AGUINIS is an associate professor of management at the Universityof
Colorado at Denver. His research interests include personnel selection, social
power and influence in organizations, and research methods. He has published
more than 40 articles in such outlets as Journal of Applied Psychology,Personnel Psy-
chology, the Academy of Management Journal, and the Academy of Management
Review.
WAYNE F. CASCIO is professor of management at the University of Colorado at
Denver.He is a past president both of the Human Resources Division of the Acad-
emy of Management and of the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
He is the author of six texts in human resources and publishes widely on related
issues.
CHRISTOPHER DANIEL teaches human resource management at Kentucky
State University and coordinates the master of public administration program
there. His researchhas focused primarily on selection, Equal Employment Oppor-
tunity,and merit/patronage issues. He has contributed to this journal and to Public
Personnel Management,Personnel, and Public Administration Review.
ANDREW I. E. EWOH is on the political science faculty of the College of Arts
and Sciences at Prairie View A&M University. He earned his master’s degree in
public administration from Southern University and Ph.D. in political economy
from the Universityof Texas at Dallas. Dr.Ewoh’s areas of research interest include
public policy, human resource management, political economy, and governance.
His articles have appeared in the Review of Public PersonnelAdministration,Policy
Studies Review, and numerous other scholarly journals.
JAMES S. GUSEH is an associate professor of public administration at North
Carolina Central University. He obtained his J.D. in law from the Syracuse Uni-
versity and Ph.D. in political economy from the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr.
Guseh’s areas of research interest include macroeconomic policies, comparative
public administration, and electoral politics. His articles have appeared in Presi-
dential Studies Quarterly,Journal of Macroeconomics, and several other journals.
JOAN E. PYNES is the director of the PublicAdministration Program at the Uni-
versity of South Florida. She is the author of Human Resources Management for
Public and Nonprofit Organizations published by Jossey-Bass, Inc. Her research
includes a variety of topics in public and nonprofit management.
