Continuity and Change in PAR’s Editorial Team 699
Editorial
D uring the last three years, the Public
Administration Review (PAR ) editorial team
has expanded significantly with the addition
of new features and feature editors, and the addition
of associate editors, now numbering six. PAR has
simultaneously experienced tremendous increases in
new manuscripts submitted. Over the last two years,
submissions increased 40%, from 385 in 2013 to
540 in 2015. In 2016, PAR is on track for another
record year, having received our 300th submission
by mid-July.
I am pleased to announce that Rick Feiock has
agreed to extend his three-year term as Editor for an
additional year through 2017 to continue managing
the review process. Rick will be joined in his editor
responsibilities by Gregg G. Van Ryzin, who will
serve as Co-editor. We are exceptionally pleased to
add Gregg in this editorial leadership role to assist in
supervising the large editorial team and handling the
expanding flow of manuscripts. He has served PAR
exceptionally well for the last two years as Associate
Editor and has outstanding qualifications and
credentials. Gregg is professor and interim dean at the
School of Public Affairs and Administration, Rutgers
University—Newark, where he previously directed the
doctoral program. He is a widely published scholar in
public management and administration, with a focus
on citizens and their experiences with government
services and institutions. Gregg is a psychologist by
training with a background in survey research and an
interest in experimental and behavioral approaches to
public administration.
PAR ’s tremendous performance in terms of media
attention, readership, downloads, and journal
rankings over my term as Editor in Chief has been
gratifying. With this editorial team in place I am
confident that PAR will continue on this path through
the transition to the next editorial team and continue
PAR ’s position as the preeminent global professional
journal in public administration.
