Southeastern Council
of Foundations Annual Meeting
The Southeastern Council of Foundations will
hold its 47th Annual Meeting Nov. 9–11 in Amelia
Island, Fla.
According to organizers, this year’s event will
explore new ideas and new challenges that inuence
Southern philanthropy today, as well as the new
generation of leaders that is quickly becoming the
face of grantmaking in the region.
The Annual Meeting will provide participants
with access to valuable insights and thought leader-
ship from those with deep roots in Southern philan-
thropy. Workshop and session topics will include:
“Taking the Reins: A Millennial Generation
Asserts Itself in Philanthropy.”
“Beyond the Letter of the Law: Creating a
Culture of Ethics and Accountability.”
“Youth Economic Mobility: Mobilizing Sys-
tems Change.”
“Helping NPOs Avoid the Reef: High Per-
formance Benchmarking & Measuring Nonprot
Capacity.”
“Pump Up the Volume: Working with Grantees
to Build an Effective Communications Strategy.”
Fees for the event range up to $1,800, depending
on membership status and other factors.

2016 Annual Conference
The Grant Professionals Association will hold
its 2016 Annual Conference Nov. 9–12 in Atlanta.
According to the GPA, its annual conference is
one of the most comprehensive educational and pro-
fessional growth events available for those commit-
ted to excellence in the practice of grantsmanship.
The conference draws grant proposal writers,
grant managers, nonprot administrators and con-
sultants of all skill levels. The conference features a
well-rounded roster of speakers and more than 70
workshops taught by industry professionals, as well
as opportunities to network. Conference tracks will
focus on proposal development, prospects research
and donor relations, grant management and report-
ing, communications, evaluation and collaboration,
among others.
Fees for the conference range up to $965, depend-
ing on membership status, date of registration and

ARNOVA 2016 Annual Conference
The Association for Research on Nonprot Or-
ganizations and Voluntary Action will hold its 2016
Annual Conference Nov. 17–19 in Washington, D.C.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Nonprots,
Philanthropy, and Government: Policy and Partner-
ships in an Era of Change.” According to ARNOVA,
research on the relationship between the nonprot
and public sectors has a long history in the eld, and
the conference this year will build on this tradition
by considering recent changes in this relationship in
the United States and around the world.
Workshops and presentations will explore such
topics as:
What important challenges does the board face
today? How are governance models changing?
Is the role of faith communities changing in
advocating for and meeting human needs?
How do nonprots balance and prioritize ac-
countability to different constituencies?
How and why do nonprots collaborate, and
with whom? What are some for mal and informal
types of collaboration in the nonprot and voluntary
sector?
Registration fees range up to $426, depending on
membership status and other factors.
