Attendees will also examine the internal and external
landscapes of partnership, human resource develop-
ment, new laws, nance and advocacy, organizers said.
The symposium will feature concrete examples of
exceptional boards; leadership lessons from the eld;
30 seminars that will help attendees become better

IHRFG 2016
San Francisco Conference
The International Human Rights Funders Group’s
2016 San Francisco Conference is slated for Jan. 20–22.
According to organizers, the objectives of the
event, in addition to learning and networking, are
to showcase how human rights philanthropy can
most effectively “up its game,” and to feature new
and unconventional actors, ideas, strategies, voices,
perspectives, tools and techniques in human rights
and grantmaking.
Using nearby Silicon Valley as inspiration, the
event will embrace the spirit of innovation—nding
a way to take the eld to a new level by disrupt-
ing or changing the curve on social change—and
make room for creativity, the IHRFG said, asking
funders, “What’s new?” in human rights activism
and grantmaking.
