2016 Education Grantmakers
Institute
Grantmakers for Education will host the 2016
Education Grantmakers Institute at the Harvard
Graduate School of Education in Cambridge,
Mass., April 5–6.
The theme for this year’s program is “From the
Fringes to the Forefront: Innovation’s Place in the
Accountability Debate.” Presenters will explore
three major themes rooted in education policy and
the unique role of philanthropy:
Equity: How can we build on equity as a core
value, utilizing the past as we look to the future?
Innovation: How can we align accountability
with the 21st-century schools movement and work-
force demand?
Public will: How can we garner enduring
public support for improvements in education ac-
countability and accreditation?
The hope is for the event to serve as an incubator
for collaboration within and beyond participant
organizations.
Fees for the event range from $1,300 to $1,500,
depending on membership status.

GEO Annual Conference
Grantmakers for Effective Organizations will hold
its 2016 Annual Conference May 2–4 in Minneapolis.
According to organizers, this year’s conference
offers participants the opportunity to examine cur-
rent challenges within the eld, hear new ideas for
smarter grantmaking practices that achieve better
results and engage in meaningful peer discussions.
The event brings together participants representing a
variety of roles within their organizations, who enjoy
thought-provoking speakers, interactive program-
ming, special events and networking opportunities
designed to help participants learn new strategies and
share their experiences with others.

Native Americans in Philanthropy
Native Americans in Philanthropy will hold its
11th Annual Philanthropy Institute, “Raising Im-
pact with Native Voices,” May 25–27 in San Diego.
According to organizers, this conference will

advocacy, civic engagement and economic devel-
opment.

porting Native communities.

Pennsylvania Philanthropy
Conference
The Council on Foundations is hosting the Penn-
sylvania Philanthropy Conference April 25–26 in
State College, Pa.
According to organizers, this conference will
provide participants with opportunities to network,
sharpen their management skills and discuss some
of the most pressing issues facing the Common-
wealth of Pennsylvania.
The rst day will focus exclusively on community
foundations and include sessions on donor services,
nancial best practices, strategic grantmaking and
board development. The second day will focus on
public policy issues in Pennsylvania including the
state budget and all foundations are welcome.
Registration fees range from $150 up to $350.
