Columbia College dance professor named artist-in-residence.

Columbia College dance professor Martha Brim has been named the new Richland Library artist-in-residence.

Over the next four months, Brim will share her talent and knowledge with library patrons while working with the arts librarian on a series of free community programs for people of all ages. As artist-in-residence, Brim will hold weekly office hours at the main library location at 1431 Assembly St. in downtown Columbia.

Brim has been a dance professor at Columbia College for nearly 35 years and has experience as a dance professional, choreographer and educator, according to a news release from the library. In 2000, Brim founded The Power Company Collaborative, working with musicians, designers and artists to co-create large-scale performance installations.
