City of Columbia accepting treasured tree applications.

The nomination deadline for the city of Columbia's Treasured Tree program is Nov. 16.

The program documents and preserves trees significant for a variety of reasons, including size, scarcity or association with historical events. The trees must be located on public or private property in the greater Columbia metropolitan area. Trees on private property require the property owner's signed permission to evaluate the tree.
